Whether you have arthritis of the knee, injured ligaments, or runner’s knee, knee pain can have a wide variety of causes. Various studies over the years have established a link between weight and osteoarthritis of the knee. Those who are overweight are at greater risk of suffering from this condition. Intensive running can cause muscles, joints and ligaments to contract, which can sometimes cause pain in the knee area so try and space out running sessions. Flip-flops and high heels are known to cause knee pain as they exert excessive pressure on this part of the body so maybe opt for a more comfortable pair of shoes.
